Wilderness & Trips
Six million acres ripe for adventure!
Adirondack Camp lies within the boundaries of Adirondack Park, New York’s premier wilderness destination. Our Wilderness & Trips program challenges campers to make a more meaningful connection with our environment (and each other) while treading lightly on the planet. Each Trip, no matter the type, or level of difficulty, works to build character, confidence, and competence.
A challenge-by-choice program, we have trips for all ages and all levels of experience. YOU design your program! Take a day-hike, or go off-site 12 times to complete an entire Quest — our goal is to have every camper explore what adventures await off of the peninsula.

The Five Quests of Adirondack Camp
The ADK 46ers, Firetowers, Wild Waters, Lake George 5, and Northville Lake Placid Trail. Campers who complete a quest earn a custom t-shirt to remember their efforts and can be worn in place of their camp uniform to proudly show off their hard-earned accomplishment. There are also Wilderness awards, including the 46er Award for climbing the most high peaks in the Adirondacks, and the Top Mileage prize for most miles traveled on strength of limb (canoeing, hiking).
Leave No Trace
Wilderness & Trips adventures teach campers the ethics of Leave No Trace camping and backpacking. Campers get to read maps, find campsites, set up tents, build fires, and help cook in the backcountry. As a small group with limited resources, campers learn to balance personal care with group responsibilities. Everyone has a role, and everyone is necessary for the success of the trip.
Trip staff teach, lead, and inspire campers to explore the wilderness. Investing time in Adirondack exploration is immensely rewarding.
