Wilderness Trip Staff

Hi everyone, I’m Sydney! I’m 21 years old and originally from Ridgefield, WA but I am living in Portland, OR. Currently, I am a senior nursing major at the University of Portland. I am looking forward to starting a career in nursing after my time at camp.

When I am not busy with school you’ll most likely find me outdoors. I am an avid hiker, and love exploring the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. My favorite hike is to a waterfall or to an alpine lake to swim in. I also enjoy camping and road biking. It can be gloomy and rainy in Portland which can make it hard to get outside. On these days I like to stay cozy indoors and read a book or bake a treat. I recently have been trying to learn how to crochet and knit.

This summer, I am excited to be part of the trips staff at camp! It will be my first year, and I am looking forward to exploring a new part of the country while sharing my love of the outdoors with the campers. Whether we are out on a day hike or participating in camp activities I am excited to create some great memories and help others enjoy and appreciate nature. I am also really excited to connect with new people this summer, and I am hoping to make lasting friendships with both the campers and fellow staff.
