Waterfront Floater
Hi everyone! My name is Sai, and I am 21 years old. I grew up on the Upper West Side in Manhattan, but recently moved up to Westchester. I studied Psychology at Lafayette College for two years before transferring to The Ohio State University last fall. I am now studying Primary Education with the intention of getting my master’s in Early Childhood Education. At school, I am a part of the Pre-teaching Organization as well as compete for my school’s club ski team.
In my free time, I love watching drama movies and TV. But I love being outside as well. I teach skiing during the winter at Windham Mountain and have grown up spending my summers here on the lake. I also enjoy cooking, listening to crime podcasts, and spending time with my friends.
This will be my 11th summer at ADK; I started as a camper when I was nine years old! Some of my favorite memories are from camp and some of my closest friends. Last year, I was able to check one more cabin off my list, which means there is only one Moss Line Cabin I have not lived in yet.
During my first two years as staff, I spent my time at Senior Point teaching windsurfing. Last year, however, I had my first summer as a waterfront floater, and I loved it. As a camper, I filled my schedule with water sports because of the calm and excitement I felt while being on the lake, so I am always excited to get back on the lake. This year I will also be working with Rachel as program coordinator. It will give me the opportunity to learn more about how camp is run and planning the fun events we have!
I love Adirondack camp for many reasons, but my favorite is the feeling of community that blossoms everywhere you turn. Friends and staff encourage you to try new things, and you find yourself doing the same for other people. I hope to help campers take advantage of everything camp has to offer because it truly is a place like no other. Counting down the days!
