Adirondack Camp is an amazing place for kids to grow. Surrounded by nature and away from screens, they try new activities like hiking, waterskiing or fencing. These experiences help them discover more about themselves and build confidence. It’s not just about learning skills like archery or canoeing—it’s about facing challenges like speaking at Gathering or even just spending weeks away from their families and realizing they can do more than they thought.

As many are aware, growing is one of the core values represented on Adirondack Camp’s 10 plaques, embodying a principle we aim to instill in both campers and staff throughout their time at camp. Our Awards Ceremony at the end of each session acknowledges campers who embody different aspects of all our plaques. The growth a camper experiences within their cabin, during activities, and personally can be truly significant. Witnessing their transformation from arrival to departure, seeing them evolve into their true selves, holds profound meaning. A highlight is observing the pride on their faces and in the eyes of their peers as they receive recognition and are applauded by the entire camp community during our Awards Ceremony.

Our two Eagle Winners!

Banquet

We held our Banquet lunch featuring a three-course meal crafted by our talented kitchen team, with staff and rangers dressed up for the occasion. To start, we savored spring rolls and broccoli soup, followed by a choice of pork loin or vegetarian meatloaf as the main course, with caesar salad and pesto salad. And for dessert, we indulged in the irresistible flavors of tiramisu!

Wishboard Ceremonies

Wishboards, once a cherished tradition exclusive to the Moss Line, have evolved over the years to include everyone at camp. At the end of each session, counselors artistically make designs on square pieces of wood for their cabins and fill each camper’s board with their memories from the summer. Gathered around a campfire, we come together as a community to flip our wishboards, reflecting on and appreciating the moments we’ve shared.

A candle, lit from a single flame, rests in the center of each wishboard, casting a warm glow as we share stories, songs, and poems. United by this flame, we make wishes for the future as we blow out our candles, marking the end of another unforgettable camp experience.

What’s On This Weekend

Today we have a “flip day”, a free day in between our two main sessions where staff and campers can have some down time for a day before we kick-start Session Two tomorrow! Then we welcome about 100 new friends onto the peninsula for another 4 weeks of fun.
