In the Spirit for 4th of July
The Fourth of July festivities at Camp are a highlight, mirroring the celebrations across the USA. During lunch, everyone donned their most patriotic attire for a lively parade to the dining area, accompanied by tunes like “Party in the USA” and “Surfin’ USA” echoing across the ballfield. What struck everyone most was the palpable sense of Spirit!
Spirit is one of the core values we uphold here at Camp, permeating everything from today’s parade to cabin life and our spirited Blue/White competitions. Embracing spirit is fundamental to the camp experience, as outlined in the cabin contracts that each camper discusses and signs with their counselors and cabin mates. Here’s what the contract highlights about Spirit:
I will be an active member of the Adirondack Camp community! As such, I will partake in all camp routines and the daily camp schedule.
Every day presents a fresh chance to embody spirit in all aspects of our lives, much like here at camp, where embodying spirit through enthusiasm, charisma, and joy elevate the energy of those around us and make camp a more special place.
