Nestled among the towering pines of our peninsula stands one of the most important buildings at camp - the Infirmary. Much more than just a Health Center, this sanctuary of care and comfort plays a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and happiness of everyone at camp. This session, the Health Center is staffed by a skilled team led by Dr. Alison Tothy, along with Head Nurse Taylor, Nurses Claire and Marissa, and Healthcare Assistant, Brandi!

In the bustling rhythm of camp life, the Health Center stands as a beacon of reassurance and support. Every mealtime sees the gentle routine of campers recieving their personal medications, coordinated by the nurses. Beyond these times the Health Center hosts “sick call” after every meal; this is a time when campers and staff can seek medical attention for anything from scraped knees and bug bites to homesickness and mild ailments. Nurses are avaliable around the clock, reachable via walkie-talkie for any emergency that may arise.

Last year, our Health Center was rebuilt. What was once a modest structure has been transformed into a spacious and air-conditioned building, now including comfortable housing for everyone that works in there. An office, an exam room, and multiple rooms for overnight stays further enhance its capabilities, providing a nurturing environment for those in need of rest and recuperation. Our Health Center stands not just as a building, but as a symbol of care, community, and the unwavering spirit of Adirondack Camp.
