Self-Portraits like Picasso

This video will guide you through how to create your own self-portraits in the style of Picasso, a famous Spanish painter from the beginning of the 20th century. He is famous for co-founding the Cubist movement, inventing the constructed (3D) sculpture, and being a co-inventor of the collage. In this project you will use cardboard and other recycled materials to layer and collage an image of yourself.

Materials:

  • Scissors
  • Cardboard and other recycling bin materials
  • Tape and/or glue
  • A pencil for sketching shapes to cut out

Chris first attended camp when he was nine, and he’s been in love with camp every summer since. Chris’ first summer at Adirondack Camp in 2008; he started out as a canoe staff and went on to be the Junior Boys’ Line Head for four summers.
